The following is for the folks who have been recently asking us if we still have a registry:
For those of you who have asked (and nudged), here is our gift registry. We don't need traditional gifts like china, silver, and glassware because we have the sets Cyndi's mother (and grandmother) owned. There are, however, a few household things we'd love.
Cookware: We absolutely love the cast iron and stainless steel pieces we've already recieved. There are a couple more on Amazon's registry to round things out. We're so happy to replace the nonstick.
Knives: We now have plenty of great knives, thank you!
Misc Kitchen Supplies:
Stainless steel mixing bowls (the kind you'd mix a cake in)
Glass storage containers with plastic lids (like Tupperware, only glass; Pyrex makes some)
BBQ Fork. How to describe? Like a pitchfork, all metal, with parrael tines designed for kebobs so you can grill them all together
Kitchen timer. Digital but easy to use. It would be nice to be able to use our microwave at the same time as we're timing something else
Mandoline. A good one for slicing veggies thin
Toaster Oven: Isn't it just our luck that our toaster oven would be
working perfectly until more than a month after the wedding. When you smell
burning plastic coming from its insides, you know it's time to replace it! The
best one for our needs appears to be the T-Fal AvantŽ Elite Toaster Oven with
Convection. It's at Amazon.
Sheets: We are pretty much set for sheets.
Towels: We now have plenty of towels.
Bathmats: Natural fibers with latex/rubber or no backing.
Laundry Hamper: Tall, free-standing, portable, not plastic.
Outdoor Furniture: Tables and chairs. Weatherproof (no snow here). Metal or wood (not pressure-treated), even plastic is okay. Used is fine if not sprayed with pesticides.
IKEA
Nirvana Safe Haven (need replacement
filters for Austin Healthmate Jr. and under the sink water filter with UV)
Friedman Brothers Hardware (707-584-7811) (Home Depot, YardBirds, and Orchard
Supply are all fine too)
